how to improve your metabolism

Before you can begin to boost your metabolism, it makes sense to explain exactly what metabolism is, and how it works - but do not worry, you only need to know the basics!

Some people think that the metabolism is a kind of organ or body part, which influences the digestion. Indeed, metabolism is not just any body part in particular. It is the process by which the body converts food into energy.

So, you've probably heard of the metabolic process term used interchangeably with the term metabolism, because they both mean the same thing.

The Medical Mumbo Jumbo

Again, do not worry - it's not a complicated medical text (which should be good news for most of you!), And so we do not need to spend an unnecessary amount of time and space by focusing on the complex layers of the human body and its extraordinary intelligence.

Without diving deep into the medical details (which are not relevant to our general understanding purposes), it is nonetheless useful to look briefly at the biological mechanisms behind the metabolism.

Metabolism is the process of transformation of food (nutrients, for example) into fuel (energy). The body uses this energy to carry a wide range of critical functions.

In fact, your ability to read this page, literally, is driven by your metabolism.

If you had no metabolism - that is, if you did not have metabolic processes which was to convert food into energy - then you would not be able to move.

In fact, long before you realized you could not move a finger or lift your foot, your internal processes have ceased, because the basic elements of life - the circulating blood, transforming oxygen into carbon dioxide , expelling potentially lethal waste by the kidneys and so on - all these depend on metabolism.

So do keep that in mind next time you hear someone say they have a slow metabolism. Although they may struggle with weight gain due to unwanted metabolic factors, they certainly have a metabolism that works. If not, they would not even be able to speak (because, too, requires energy that comes from, you guessed it: the metabolism!).

It is also interesting to note that, while we conveniently refer to the metabolic processes as if it were a single function, it's really a catch-all for the countless functions that take place within the body.
