We see it all around us. Color blocking has come, it has made its dramatic entrance, and it is here to stay! I can’t say that I don’t like it because to be honest, I think women’s apparel could use a punch of bold colors every so often. And it’s just so undeniably fun to play dress up in all the rainbow shades we now have to choose from in everything from clothing to accessories, and now, even to your favorite pair of high heels!
Many fashion designing houses whether in New York, Paris, London or Milan, have all taken firm hold of this still-in-development trend that is pouring out bucketfuls of playful fashion into the streets creating a palate of colors no matter which way you look. Women’s apparel has spun this trend into different shapes, stripes and styles to bend the matter of these shades into limitless options for us women to choose from. But of all the colors, one has rested in my mind as being a citrusy dream to play with: orange!
Some of my favorite platform heels don the same colors that we like to play safe and in the middle of the road with: yes. The blacks, the grays and sometimes, only sometimes, the nudes. You really can not go wrong with the given combination of shoe colors, but it really leaves your shoe wardrobe screaming for more amidst your cries that it really is hard to pull off such bold colors like purple, yellow and orange. But do not fear! If the Fall collection of Prada has taught us anything, it’s that colors are actually quite magical and invigorating. And the more outrageous a color is, the more fun it is to play with!
No one does bold and crazy better than Japan Vogue’s editor in chief, and one of my all-time favorite fashionistas, Anna dello Russo. Claiming to only wear runway, Anna has taken the orange platform heels off of Prada’s new line, and taken it to the streets and made it look effortlessly cool in a pair of orange and black stripes pair of high heels that makes you almost wish it were Halloween again!
With an outfit that has hints of orange in it, you can easily pull on a pair of orange heels yourself and indulge in a world of bold and beautiful where the more colors you can incorporate into your world of orange- the better. Fashion waits for no man, and while these trends are circulating at a rapid pace around us, it’s time to take hold of something you wouldn’t normally do- and be daring in pairing yourself with your own set of orange shoes. Have fun with it! And most of all, feel fabulous!
